Ceramics and Art have always played an important part in my artistic development during the past 40 years and my exploration of slab-built structures using earthenware clay bodies leads to experimenting with different surface glazes to elevate the decorated art forms. I have specialised in building ceramic clocks which are unique and made by hand.

Ceramics and Art, work together in every way and provide creative opportunities to explore and meet new challenges.

My studio is at the bottom of our garden down a winding path past the silkie bantams; Bluebell, Primrose and Snowdrop. They lay the cutest little eggs for our breakfast each morning! Sinbad the cat strolls past and curls up by the door for a snooze in the sunshine with not a care in the world. I am inspired by the lovely Somerset countryside, listening to the birds singing and the rain pitter-patter on the roof. My paintings and ceramics are a great joy to create and allow me to spend endless hours dreaming up new designs and applying them to paper and clay. And my lovely wife Helen brings me endless cups of tea and biscuits as I share my latest efforts with her and receive much-needed critique which I value with affection.

My watercolour pen and ink paintings have found their way into private collections on both sides of the Atlantic and the shop features many of them as limited edition prints and cards. My exploration of three-dimensional works still has some of the whimsical characteristics that can be found in my paintings. I hope that you enjoy browsing through my work on these pages.
